पंजाब एवं हरियाणा उच्च न्यायालय ने मंगलवार को 2002 के रंजीत सिंह हत्याकांड मामले में डेरा सच्चा सौदा प्रमुख गुरमीत राम रहीम सिंह और चार अन्य को बरी कर दिया। न्यायमूर्ति सुरेश्वर ठाकुर और न्यायमूर्ति ललित बत्रा की खंडपीठ ने डेरा प्रबंधक रंजीत सिंह की हत्या के सिलसिले में केंद्रीय जांच ब्यूरो (सीबीआई) अदालत द्वारा दोषसिद्धि आदेश के खिलाफ राम रहीम सिंह, जसबीर सिंह, सबदिल सिंह, कृष्ण लाल और अवतार सिंह द्वारा दायर अपीलों को स्वीकार कर लिया। उच्च न्यायालय ने अभी विस्तृत आदेश जारी नहीं किया है।
